Honda, Ford and Nissan top MPG list

We’ve all cringed lately as we filled our vehicle, and the worst parts is, the gas prices are still rising.

We know you are going to want and need a vehicle with higher MPGs, and the good news is, we proudly carry many of the most fuel efficient models on the road today.

Consumer Reports recently tested all the top models, and Honda and Ford had the top four fuel-efficient models.

According to their tests, the Civic LX is No. 1, coming in at 47 MPG. The Civic EX comes in with 43 MPG. The Ford Fiesta SE and Sedan models are three and four, reaching 45 and 43 MPG respectively.

Many of our top models reach beyond MPG, including the manual transmission Honda CR-V (45), Nissan Versa SV Sedan (40), Fiesta SES manual hatchback (42), and Ford Fusion Hybrid (40).

Take back the pump, check out these models when considering your next model. If they are going to charge this much, it’s best to be prepared.

Ford power gives Kenseth the 500 win

Matt Kenseth’s Ford Fusion proved to be the best at Daytona Monday, as he took his car to Victory Lane at Monday’s Daytona 500.

It was a wacky start to the season, but, in the end Kenseth drove the yellow and blue No. 17 Roush Fenway Ford into Daytona’s hallowed victory lane, and there were smiles all around.

The Ford outlast the competition –not a surprise to Ford customers. The race was cancelled for rain Sunday, delayed until Monday night and delayed for another two hours by one of the most bizarre on-track incidents in NASCAR history.

During a caution period with 40 laps remaining, Juan Pablo Montoya was returning to speed on the backstretch when an apparent mechanical problem caused his car to slide into a track jet dryer. The collision sparked a huge fire in the third-turn area as the fuel tank on the track vehicle burned.
Montoya’s car caught fire briefly as it slid to the grassy apron near the track. He escaped without injury. The jet dryer vehicle driver was helped from the truck and was treated at nearby Halifax Medical Center.
Kenseth’s Roush Fenway Ford teammate Greg Biffle finished third. It was Kenseth’s second career Daytona 500 Victory and co-owner Jack Roush’s 300th NASCAR national series victory.
