Two of Ford’s 2009 models have proved to be the most dependable in their class, while other 2009 Ford models are among the best of the best.
They received the prestigious “Most Dependable Vehicles” awards as part of the annual J.D. Power and Associates 2012 U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM
As explained on www.jdpower.com:
“The study, which is based on responses from more than 31,000 original owners of 2009 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership, measures problems experienced during the previous 12 months by those original owners. Overall dependability is determined by the level of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality.”
The 2009 Ford Fusion takes the top honors for midsized cars. JD Power gave it perfect scores for overall dependability, powertrain dependability, and body and interior dependability.
The 2009 Ford Explorer gets the top spot for Midsized Crossovers, earning perfect scores in overall dependability, powertrain dependability and feature and accessory dependability. It received a “better than most” rating for body and interior dependability.
The 2009 Ford Taurus and 2009 Ford Ranger were recognized as top three most dependable vehicles in their class.
