Customers Getting More Than Ever For Their Trade

The resurgence of the auto industry is a great story to tell, and the Canton Repository told the local story in Thursday’s newspaper.

Right on the front page is the headline “Car Sales Surge,” and Waikem co-owner Doug Waikem says “In 37 years, I’ve never seen business this good.”

He said customers are getting more than ever for their trades. “Right now, people get retail for their trades.”

George Waikem Ford wins Service Trophy

The technicians at the George Waikem Ford Service Department added some major hardware to our trophy case.

The staff was presented with the “2012 Champion Cup” trophy for Overall Service Satisfaction this month. George Waikem Ford was selected No. 1 out of all the Ford service dealers in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Yahoo says Nissan Versa is cheapest car to own

Yahoo Autos has crunched the numbers, and they have determined that some of the most popular models will be some of the least expensive cars to own.

According to their “10 cheapest cars to own,” story on March 13, The Nissan Versa S trim is the least expensive vehicle to own, and the top ten is dominated by Nissan, Hyundai, Ford, Kia and Honda models.

New Mitsubishi Outlander highlights Geneva Auto Show

The eyes of the auto world were on Geneva, Switzerland this week for the Geneva Auto Show. While many of the models won’t be in the states any time soon, Mitsubishi had the grand debut of one its most popular models.

The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander has its world premiere at the Geneva Auto Show. From the looks of things, Mitsubishi is aiming for a more horizontal look. This model will also feature thin-style headlights and a similar size to the last design.

The Nissan Leaf: Our first electric test drive

After months of anticipation from customers, we’ve finally received the 2012 all-electric Nissan Leaf, and after the first test drive, we found it to have many great special features, eco-friendly and quiet ride. Some cons included lack of rear passenger leg room and a start up procedure that takes a little bit of getting use to.

When we sat behind the wheel for the first time, we weren’t 100 percent sure we had actually started the battery. If you haven’t driven an all-electric vehicle before, you’ll be surprised when you push the ignition button and don’t hear the “revving noise” that you’re accustomed to your entire life.
