Review: 2013 Nissan Altima A Great Redesign

Scenic shot of the 2013 Nissan Altima

Nissan says 2013 will be its most innovated year ever. And if the rest of the models are similar to 2013 Nissan Altima, it will be the most innovated year ever.

The 2013 Nissan Altima is incredibly stylish, very fuel efficient with up to 38 mpg highway, and quite possibly the most comfortable vehicle I’ve ever driven.

The 2013 Nissan Altima takes design cues from many similar vehicles on the road, but we think they’ve made it cleaner and more consistent. In other words, it won’t look as dated in the future.

The front grille, LED headlights and fog lights are all very stylish, and the swooping side lines are more subtle and not as overpowering as they are on other models. In the back, you’ll get duel exhaust and LED taillights.

What makes this vehicle fantastic is that you could say it takes cues from both sporty and luxury models, so really any driver will fall in love with the design.

There is a lot of style on the inside as well. Nissan worked with NASA on the leather seats so your legs get maximum blood flow during your drive. On our nearly hour long test drive, we felt more comfortable behind at the end of the trip than usually. Beyond their design, the leather itself is very comfortable.

Another neat feature on the inside is the driver information center positioned between the odometer and gas meter directly between your eyes. If you purchase the upper trims, this system will include your blindspot monitors, but on any trim, it will display your radio information, who is calling your Bluetooth and vehicle diagnostic.

What’s nice about this system is your eyes don’t have to shift away from the road to look at a center console, it’s all directly in your field of vision.

There is a center console that includes your radio, climate control and available backup camera.

As technology goes, another nice feature of the 2013 Altima is the easy fill tire system. Just hold the gauge up to the tire, and the horn will sound when your tires are filled.

Of course though, the best part of the 2013 Altima is the fuel economy. You’ll get up to 38 mpg on the highway according to EPA estimates, and an overall combined MPG of 31 MPGs.

Overall this is an incredibly fun car to drive and a tremendous redesign overall. We would give the 2013 Altima 5-stars, and suggest anyone in the market for the midsized sedan to take the Altima for a test drive.
