Two similar Subaru models earned IIHS Top Safety Pick awards Thursday.

The redesigned Subaru XV CrossTrek and Subaru Impreza were announced Top Safety Picks following crash tests by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.

The CrossTrek is a brand new model set to debut later this year. We had an exclusive sneak peak earlier this month and immediately fell in love.

In its IIHS test, the XV Crosstrek received top ratings of good in front and side impact tests and roof strength.

It joins many other Subaru models as IIHS Top Safety Picks.

When it comes out, the XV Crosstrek will be powered by the Subaru BOXER engine with a low center of gravity and agile handling. It of course has Subaru’s Symmetrical All Wheel Drive.

The XV Crosstrek gets up to an incredible 33 MPG, and an incredible 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

If you saw it at the Glenmoor Gathering, you know it is an amazing vehicle.

Look for it to hit the showroom floor later this year.
