Ford Fusion, C-Max Green Car of the Year Finalists

2013 Ford Fusion

Ford is making some of most fuel efficient and eco-friendly cars on the road today, so it’s no surprise they are dominating the nominations for Green Car of the Year.

The 2013 Ford Fusion and the 2013 Ford C-Max are among five vehicles that are finalists for the Green Car of the Year Award, sponsored by the Green Car Journal.

Ford was the only manufacturer to place two cars in the top five. Green Car Journal gives the Fords high marks for coming in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid options.

The 2013 Ford Fusion hit the lot earlier this month to rave reviews. Along with being stylish, the Fusion is Eco-Friendly. It gets up to 37 mpg in a traditional fuel engine model, with hybrid and electric options as well.

The Fusion also has the future in mind. They took recyclable materials like water bottles turned them into eco friend seats.

The Ford C-Max is a new model for 2013 that gets up to 47 mpg. This Hybrid is already comparing favorably to the Toyota Prius.

It’s also a candidate for the North American Car of Year.

These five vehicles are also the cars that Green Car Journal is calling the “Top 5 Green Cars for 2013.” From here, GCJ’s jury of “top environmental leaders” along with celeb car buff Jay Leno and the GCJ staff will pick a winner.

You can check out all these models here. Let’s hope Ford is named the Green Car of the Year.
