The redesigned 2013 Ford Escape has been talked about for more than a year now, and it’s starting to take home awards.
Popular Mechanics magazine recently named the 2013 Escape its first ever car of the year.
The Escape hit the showroom this summer, and it has been picking up rave review ever since.
Popular Mechanics gives it high marks for being roomy, fun and practical.
The editors of the magazine said they scored it high in all of the ranking categories.
“The all-new Escape is fun, smart, and practical—everything a PM Car of the Year should be.”
The Escape was redesigned for 2013, and uses European styled design to completely revamp the Ford appearance.
The drive style is really what separates the Escape from the rest:
Popular Mechanics says “The driving experience feels like it’s two full generational leaps ahead of the old Escape, a perennial best seller for Ford. Its moves are athletic and nimble, yet when equipped with the towing package, it can pull 3500 pounds.”
They also give the intelligent all-wheel-drive system high grades.
One of the best parts of the 2013 Ford Escape is the hands free liftgate. So when you have your hands full with shopping bags, simply swipe your foot underneath the gate and magically open the trunk. (See the video at the bottom of the page for demo).
The Escape also earned a four star crash rating from the The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
