2013 Mitsubishi Outlander wins KBB Lowest Cost of Ownership Award

Kelley Blue Book and KBB.com announced Tuesday that the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander has the lowest cost of ownership for any vehicle in its class.

Kelley Blue Book says in its annual 5-Year Cost to Own Award that the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander has a five year cost own total of $39,699. The lowest cost to own among all Mid-Sized SUV or Crossovers in its class. Among all vehicles on the road today, the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander finishes 10th overall.

Kelley Blue Book’s 5-Year Cost to Own Award accounts for nearly all expenses of car ownership, including depreciation, expected fuel costs, finance and insurance fees, maintenance and repair costs, and state fees for new models. The awards exist to help shoppers make more informed new-car buying decisions by breaking down typical ownership cost details and naming the brands and models with the lower projected five-year total.

KBB says that although the Outlander tends to fly under the radar, “the Mitsubishi Outlander distinguishes itself with a host of high-tech gadgetry, small but handy third-row seat and a lengthy warranty.”  The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander comes with a 10-year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, a big factor in Kelly Blue Book’s study.

The Mitsubishi Outlander includes features such as All Wheel Control, 72.6 cubic feet of cargo room, up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity, and room for either 5 or 7 depending on which model you choose.
