EXCLUSIVE: 2014 Kia Soul Photos

The 2014 Kia Soul will hit the dealership later this fall. We saw it for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards, and now we have photos that are exclusive to Waikem Kia.

Looking at the new Soul, the redesign has a been updated with a fresh design. It’s lighter than previous models, and Kia promises it will be more fun to drive. The front end is completely redesigned. the headlights are much thinner, the and the nose and grille have been update. The body is updated, and the changes really take shape out back. The one in our wash bay has a black bar that stretches in a square down the center of the hood and up the lights. The new rear LED Tail lights were also apparent on this model.

We then sat inside and noticed the all-new stitching on the seats and a much-updated center console.

The all-new 2014 Soul rides on a new chassis that is stiffer, longer and wider.  The Soul’s new dimensions allow for more passenger and cargo room while NVH levels have been reduced dramatically. In fact, the all new Soul ! 2.0l GDI has more horsepower than the Scion XB and Fiat 500L. Kia says 66.3% of chasis utilizes either Ultra High Strength Steel or High Strength Steel to improve rigidity and optimize weight. Benefits include Improved ride and handling and enhanced crash protection.

Increased torque and significant suspension upgrades make the 2014 Soul a nimble and agile companion in congested urban environments

Cargo capacity is 24.2 cubic feet, almost double that of the Nissan Cube or Scion XB.

Inside there is a long list of standard comfort and convenience features, including Bluetooth®2 wireless technology and steering wheel-mounted controls. The 2014 Kia Soul will be one of two vehicles in its class to offer heated seats and a panoramic sunroof.  Our 2014 Kia Soul had notes with special features, including Travel Link. This service appears to offer gas price, sports scores, weather and radar, movie listings and even stock market information.

Kia’s First Android Navigation System will also be introduced in the new Soul — including an 8 inch touch screen, SiriusXM Travel Link, Pandora Internet Radio and  a Quick Guide with How-To Animations.

This Soul was just enough to wet our appetite. MSRP hasn’t been announced, and we were not able to drive this one. When the Soul arrives at Waikem Kia this fall, we will of course take it for a spin and give you our exclusive test drive. Until then, contact us, and we’ll let you know when the Soul rolls into the Massillon area.
