Review: 2014 Ford Taurus

The 2014 Ford Taurus is a full sized sedan with a long list of great features. Lets take a look and see what makes this American made sedan one of the best selling in its class.

Engine and Mechanics

The 2014 Taurus can be had with a variety of different engines. The standard engine is Ford’s 3.5 liter V6 engine sending power to the front wheels. You can also have the 3.5 liter engine paired to an all-wheel drive system on SEL and Limited trims. If you are interested in saving money at the pump you can opt for 2.0 liter 4 cylinder ecoboost engine. This engine achieves 22 mpg city, 32 highway for 25 mpg combined. On the other side of the spectrum you can opt for the SHO model that features 3.5 liter 6-cylinder ecoboost motor found in the F-150, all mated to an all-wheel drive system. In this guise the motor produces 365 horsepower with 350 foot pounds of torque for those with a performance mindset.

The Taurus features a refined style usually reserved for luxury brands. The exterior features optional HID headlamps with LED accents, as well as LED taillamps. The Taurus has a variety of wheel choices to choose from ranging from standard 17 inch wheels all the way up to the SHO’s 20 inch wheels. On the inside you will find more than enough room for five full sized adults. The Taurus features 20.1 square feet of trunk space, making it more than large enough for a golf bag without moving the rear seats.

The 2014 Ford Taurus is definitely a safe place to be. The Taurus comes with all the safety equipment you would expect like ABS brakes, seven airbags, traction control, and backup camera. The Taurus also has the optional driver assist package which includes adaptive cruise control, collision warning with brake support, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and active park assistance.

The Ford Taurus features all the tech items you would expect to find in a full sized sedan. The Taurus includes the newest version of SYNC with MyFord touch. This system features hands free phone, satellite radio, USB media input, memory card slot, and MyFord Apps. The Ford Taurus also features optional comfort options like heated and cooled seats and heated and cooled steering wheel, power and memory seat, and universal remote for your garage door or security system.
