The spacious and stylish Ford Flex was voted the best car for a road trip.

The spacious and stylish Ford Flex was voted the No. 1 car for a road trip, according to Automotive Experts., Yahoo Autos, Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book and TrueCar worked with researchers at Texas A&M to make the top ten road trip cars list, choosing the Flex as the best.

They are looking at space, comfort, fuel economy and features to put together this list. This cube shapped wagon is kind of a throwback to the family station wagons with a modern feel.

Space and comfort put this wagon at No. 1. The Flex has room for seven, with 44 inches of legroom in the second row and easy power folding mechanisms for easy access into the third row. Even locally, our vehicle tester and reporter sat in the back row of a Flex, and at 6’3 inches tall, he was very comfortable on the drive.

With plenty of headroom, it’s easy to transport people while still putting plenty of cargo in the back. With 80 cubic feet cargo total, it’s basically the fun of the RV without all the RV pains.

Features are a huge plus as well. The Ford Flex has available options such as Microsoft Sync, entertainment and navigation systems, DVD rear entertainment system, multi-panel sunroof, and even a second row fridge compartment!

You’ll get roughly 20 combined MPG.

So learn more about the Flex, and pack up the family and friends for a memorable road trip.
