The Mitsubishi Mirage has been named the most affordable car of the year, according to Affordable doesn’t just mean “lowest sticker price” in this case, as their researchers looked at five-year fuel prices and new MSRP to create this formula. Every car on the market was studied, with the only requirement being automatic transmission, USB, Bluetooth capabilities, tilt steering wheel and power locks and windows.

At a total cost of only $22,115, the Mirage came in first place,  $1,800 less than the second-place vehicle, and more than $3,700 less than the list average.
