We’re starting to get a better idea of what the 2015 Ford F-150 will look like. The Ford Motor Co. debuted its appearance package guide Thursday, a basic catalog of what’s available for trims, appearance, colors and more.
There’s a lot to digest here, so here let’s take it piece by piece and highlight what’s changing.
To start, there are five available models: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. Then it webs from there as you choose the Sport or Chrome Appearance Package.
SPORT: Includes body color bumpers, upgraded wheels, box decal. Ford says think about the FX4 package on the 2014 F-150 when you think about the 2015 Sport.
CHROME: It is what it says it is. The chrome package adds bright touches including chrome bumpers, silver painted alloy wheels, and other unannounced accents on higher trims.
FX4 Off-Road Package
Next there is the tough FX4 Off-Road Package for the more adventurous owner. It’s available on the 4×4 model and includes this content:
- Hill Descent Control
- Electronic-looking rear axle
- Off-road tuned shocks
- Skid Plates
- Boxside Decal
FOUR NEW COLORS
Another big announcement from Ford is four new exterior on the new F-150.
Bronze Fire — a darker red
Caribou — Brown
Guard — A more gun-metal gray
Megnetic — Another matted gray
In total, there are 13 exterior color choice. There are 23 different color and/or fabric choices, depending on your color and trim level.
The 2015 Ford F-150 may be one of the most anticipated vehicles to come out in a long time. It’s going to be completely redesigned, highlighted by its all-aluminum body, making it 70% lighter, leading to better performance and efficiency.
