A Classic Car Show at George Waikem Ford helped raised more than $1,000 for the family of Perry Teacher Sharon Budd. The Cruise-In took place on Aug. 10, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Perry Township.
Sharon Budd, and Edison Middle School language arts teacher, was injured in July when she was struck by rocks thrown from a bridge overpass while driving on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania. According to a story in the Aug. 10 Canton Repository, Budd moved into a rehabilitation hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania.
The Perry Township community showed again why it’s such a great place to the live though at our car show, donating their money and their time in support of the Perry teacher. Our cruise in was also part of the year-long celebration of the Perry Township Bicentennial. Next month a special Oktoberfest takes place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartwick Park, 3700 block of 13th Street SW in Massillon.
We thank the Rotary Club of Perry Township and the people of this great community for a wonderful day!
