The 2015 Ford F-150 is one of the three finalists that will compete for the North American Truck/Utility of the year. With a complete interior and exterior redesign, the 2015 Ford F-150 was the most anticipated vehicle that was released this year. It will be hard to compete against it for the title in January 2015.
The North American Truck/Utility award is selection of the best redesign model for the new year. The winners will be announced on Monday, January 12th at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
For the 2015 year the Ford F-150 received a complete redesign throughout starting with the first ever vehicle to be made completely out of aluminum to the new innovation options. The aluminum used is a military-grade aluminum alloy that is constructed together in the same manner that a modern aircraft is. This design has reduced the vehicle in weight by almost 700 pounds which makes it the most fuel efficient model yet!
Under the hood you will find a new 2.7 liter V-6 twin turbocharged engine which has a direct injection, compacted-iron-graphite- block which adds more strength at less weight and a water-cooled exhaust manifold. The new engine has 325 horsepower and 375 ft-lbs of torque which brings the towing capacity to an amazing 8500 pounds. And not to mention with the lighter frame and new engine, this Truck is the most fuel efficient with an estimated 26 mpg on the highway.
Innovative technology is another strong point for the 2015 Ford F-150. Available technology includes the 360 view camera, lane-keeping system, self-parking system, adaptive cruise control and a collision warning system. The newest innovation is the 360 view camera that incorporates four different cameras on the exterior which give you a 360 view of everything around you.
The F-150 has been America’s Best Selling Truck for almost 40 years and with redesigns like this year, that shouldn’t change.
