The Ford Edge is one of the least expensive cars to insure. That’s according to Insure.com, who released its annual list this month. Taking the average rates of the six largest carriers — Allstate, Farmers, Geico, Nationwide, Progressive and State Farm, the Edge was the eighth cheapest car to insure among all vehicles.
Specifically, Insure.com used the Ford Edge SE 2WD model, which cost on average $1,176 to insure. To go even more specific, the Canton-Akron-Cleveland Area was the second least expensive area in the country to insure a vehicle, 31 percent less than the national average.
2015 will be a big year for the Edge thanks to an all-new redesign coming soon. The new Edge gets a full makeover on the outside with a more refined front end that closer resembles the rest of the lineup.
This SUV is a technological marvel also. The new Edge is loaded with great available innovations, starting with the Ford SYNC system that controls your Bluetooth, Navigation options, audio media, and climate controls.
The new Edge also has safety you’ve never seen before like an available front camera. Mounted on the grille, it goes beyond what you’ve always had with your backup camera, and now you’ll see what’s happening in front of you.
The Edge also adds the active park assist, lane watch warnings, blind spot information system and more. It also has the power hands-free liftgate that is so popular on the Ford Escape.
We’ll have the 2015 Ford Edge later this spring. If you’re looking for the one of the least expensive vehicles to insure while it’s loaded for technology, there’s nothing better for your driveway.
