Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn announced a massive price drop for the base model 2013 Nissan Leaf, making it the least expensive Electric Vehicle on the market.
The new starting price for the 2013 Nissan Leaf S starts at $28,800, a drop from the $35,000-plus price tag for the 2012 debut of this all electric model.
Ghosn, speaking at a forum during the North American International Auto Show, credited moving production from Japan to Tennessee as one of the major reasons for the price drop. The Leaf’s lithium-ion battery and electric motors are manufactured in the United States.
